$22.50 - $33.75Promotes positive Clinical Outcomes by providing consistent clinical assistance to patients and other members of the clinical team. Assists the different departments of Cardiology depending need.
1) Greets and escorts patients to and from clinical areas and informs patients when there is a delay in physician schedule
2) Performs initial work-up of patients by taking all vital signs, height, weight, and documents the results in the medical record
3) Performs various tasks based on department need, patient condition, and skills verification (i.e., phlebotomy). Requires skill with various blood draw techniques and experience with "hard-to-draw" patients.
4) Notifies appropriate clinical staff regarding patient needs and changes in patient’s condition which requires expertise beyond Medical Assistant Cert/Reg
5) Anticipates need for and completes, accurately and thoroughly forms and paper work as necessary
6) Follows the referral approval process
7) Assists the physician in patient examination and treatment
8) Checks all charts for completeness, correct order of labs and tests, MD signature on patient notes, consultation reports, and progress notes
9) Orders labs and transports specimens to lab as needed
10) Assures medical record data i.e., results of tests, x-ray and consults are included in medical record for the physician to review during the visit. • Assists MD in completion of encounter forms for each patient, x-ray and outside lab order requisitions and referrals. • Maintains and prepares instruments and equipment for physician use during the exam. • Requires the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to adult (19 through 64 years), and geriatric (65 years and older) patients. Requires communication skills necessary to interpret age-specific response to patients.

1)Adheres to Advocate’s, AIMMC ,AMG and Cancer Center standard of behavior with regard to customer service in orders to facilitates high patient satisfactionachieve KRAs for patient satisfaction scores on the Press Ganey Survey.
2)Assists the Clinic Nurse Supervisor in maintenance and daily upkeep of the clinic areas, brochure and calling cards restocked
3)Utilizes appropriate resources to meet customer needs including greeting patients and practicing AIDET, checking for referrals and notifying Case Manager or PSR if missing in chart, answer all phone calls by the end of the day, document in EMR any patient related event, complete Quality Checklist by end of the day and return all phone calls by the end of the day.
Clinic responsibilities to promote associate and physician engagement.
1) Assists in orientation of new staff.
2) Participates in development and implementation of clinical policies/procedures
3) Assists in creating environment of continuous improvement, by participating in CQI teams, performing data collection and attending meetings on quality improvement
Organization and maintenance of medical supplies for the clinic areas, including exam rooms and laboratory to meet patient and physician needs to contribute to the KRA for funding our future.
1) Orders supplies from general stores with the approval of the manager.
2) Restocks and cleans exam rooms pre and post visits.
3) Restocks and orders supplies for the clinic area.
Developmental Responsibilities to contribute to our growth of knowledge and programs.
1) Maintains current skill verification specific to their practice.
2) Maintains current CPR certification
3) Attends in-service and other professional development opportunities.
Education/Experience Required:
1 year experience in physician office, preferred 1+ years healthcare experience, preferred (excluding externship)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
1) Ability to access patients and respond in a timely manner
2) Exposure to unidentified infectious cases
3) Exposure to body fluids and blood
4) Ability to work varying shifts to meets needs of center.
5) Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations. 6) Physical demands are moderate. Occasional lifting, bending and stooping or sitting. Normal office environment where there is minimal or no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust or noise. Equipment utilized includes basic office equipment designed for use with ambulatory patients as well as emergency medical equipment.
This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
