Contractor | Remote (Brazil)

HeliosX is an international healthtech group operating telehealth platforms across multiple markets. We are now expanding into Brazil with the launch of MedExpress, our leading online prescribing and telehealth service.

We’re looking for a Medical Advisor (Telehealth Doctor) to guide our Brazilian launch on a contractor basis. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the clinical, regulatory, and operational foundations of a proven international telehealth model, while collaborating with our London-based team.

 

The Role

You will support the expansion in phased stages:

 

Phase 1 – Initial Review (2 hrs, one-off)

  • Provide a brief overview of regulations for online prescribing services in Brazil and give a top level gap analysis with the existing operating model of MedExpress. 
  • Assist in identifying if there is the possibility that the operating model of MedExpress might function in Brazil, with only “reasonable” changes
  • Attend a max 2 hour interview (may be 2 x 1 hour) over video call with the Medical Director, International & Strategy and Director of Market Expansion.

Phase 2 – Detailed Review (10 hrs, one-off)

  • Provide a detailed overview of regulations for the online prescribing services market in Brazil and assist in a gap analysis with the existing operating model of MedExpress. 
  • Assist in identifying the clinical requirements to identify how an online prescribing service could be launched in Brazil, across key states. This would include: Requirements of the medical team, Compliance with regulations and best practice, Advertising of prescription medication and medical services, and Key Insurance considerations
  • Using a provided template, complete a full report to enable the assessment of the required clinical operations model for an online prescribing service  in Brazil.

Phase 3 – Pre-Launch (~3 days/week for ~8 weeks)

  • Review & sign-off on all protocols & SOP’s that will have been localised from the UK to the Brazilian market, relating to area of expertise, to ensure compliance with local regulations and best practices 
  • Provide horizon scanning to pre-empt any expected changes in regulations and best practices 
  • Assist in the sourcing of alternative advisors where there are any gaps in knowledge or experience  
  • Manage the translation of appropriate clinical material where appropriate (English <> Portuguese)
  • Be the local SME for the telehealth
  • Attend adhoc meetings at mutually agreed times, online
  • Be listed on the local MedExpress website - profile photo + bio for launch and at least 2 months after launch +/- representing the brand on social, and other, media

  • Proactively highlight any gaps in the service, ensuring compliance and patient safety
  • Attend a minimum of one (30 minute) meeting per week to provide insights

 

About You

Essential: Extensive experience of the Brazilian online telehealth industry.

  • Ideally experience of GLP-1 prescriptions and erectile dysfunction treatments via online asynchronous consultations. 
  • Excellent, fluent, professional English and Portuguese. 
  • Ideally registered with appropriate Conselho Regional de Medicina (CRM), with licence to practice.
  • Ideally experience of the design and management of such a service. 
  • Ideally actively practising clinician currently.
