Job Description:

About the Role:

The Medical Advisor will be responsible for partnering with the Marketing Lead to build out the brand strategy. They will be specifically accountable for the medical affairs strategy of the designated therapeutic area and will play a vital role in the design and implementation of a respective Medical Affairs plan to provide the scientific support for marketed products and products in development.

Role Responsibilities:

S/he will develop and implement the medical affairs strategy, supply medical insight and safety oversite into promotional material along with learning materials for internal and external use and actively contribute medical, safety and scientific input to relevant internal Brand(s) and Managed Markets teams regarding product strategy.  The Medical Advisor will also actively contribute to medical input for local investigator-initiated research (ISR) and support global medical and clinical activities with global therapeutic area physicians, including global brand strategy, global clinical trials, brand safety profile discussions, global brand payer dossier.

Additional representative responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

Exchange Scientific Data

  • Set up scientific communication strategy including key publications from BeOne trials and key messages in therapeutic area and BeOne brands to support business strategies and life cycle management.
  • Set up medical activities plan in align with business objectives, such as Advisory board meetings, national/regional educational meetings, Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement activities, etc., and ensure successful implementation.
  • Work with experts in the relevant field to understand current clinical practice, challenges and areas of unmet need.  Share insights with the wider organization to inform and guide strategy as needed.
  • Aligned with development and brand team to develop integrated KOL list, ensure sufficient KOL interaction through 1:1 meetings, educational meetings, scientific project, etc. and ensure proper tracking of the activities
  • Partner with External Stakeholders
  • Work with leading physicianBes and patient advocacy groups to identify and support activities that provide education, improve patient outcomes and support the quality use of medicines.
  • Together with other members of the Medical Affairs team and other functions, establish and maintain strong relationships with KOLs for and on behalf of BeOne in all relevant areas to promote the Company's reputation, dedication to patients, and expertise in these areas.

Strategic Internal Partner

  • Utilise KOL input and insights to support Clinical Development Teams in the development, approval and execution of BeOne clinical trials in the relevant therapeutic area.
  • Support the Clinical Operations team in assessing trials, identifying trial sites, managing trials and ensuring timely delivery of our clinical trial program in Australia and New Zealand
  • Collaborate with and support the Regulatory, Market Access and Health Economic Outcomes Research (HEOR) leads to plan for successful registration and reimbursement in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Identify needs, provide and/or facilitate training on the therapeutic area to internal teams.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety reporting and RMP activities.

Generate Evidence

  • Work with HEOR and Market Access leads to identify key data gaps and develop plans for data generation to support reimbursement in Australia and New Zealand
  • Work with KOLs to identify areas of research interest aligned with ISR strategy and support the submission, review and set up of ISRs for indications of interest.

Theraputic Area General Management

  • Prepare and manage budgets for therapeutic area
  • Manage third party vendors who are completing medical affairs related activities
  • Manage patient access programmes
  • In partnership with the Medical Director, drive medical excellence in field medical operations, governance and risk management.

Qualification Required:

Qualifications:

  • PhD, MBBS. PharmD, with significant experience in all aspects of clinical trials and professional knowledge and skills working with oncology therapeutics in solid tumour indications.
  • Relevant pharmaceutical or related industry experience medical affairs with significant time in haematology, oncology or immunology. Proven track record of contribution to commercial, medical and/or clinical development strategies (in-country/region).
  • Significant experience in another cross-functional role (eg, HEOR,
  • Solid peer relationships with and exposure to external scientific and clinical experts and Key Opinion Leaders; demonstrated ability to proactively engage internal and external leaders and serve as a medical expert for relevant therapeutic area.
  • Understanding of applicable rules, regulations and actions of relevant regulatory bodies in Australian and New Zealand.
  • Proven ability to translate and appropriately align commercial and scientific goals and objectives and to interact productively with both commercial and scientific colleagues.
  • Highest ethical standards in corporate medical governance.
  • Experience delivering compelling and persuasive communications on complex and controversial topics to both corporate management and scientific audiences.
  • Successful track record of cross-business/cross-functional planning, collaboration and solution building.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to allow for successful interaction with peers across the organization to achieve corporate goals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • English proficiency a must.
  • Ability to travel interstate and internationally when needed.
