Position Summary

The Proposal Automation Lead plays a pivotal role in driving innovation within the capture and proposal lifecycle. This high-impact position is responsible for integrating artificial intelligence and automation tools into Aetna’s healthcare proposal development process. The role will lead the technical strategy and implementation of AI-driven solutions using platforms such as Rohan, VisibleThread, and other industry-leading technologies—ensuring proposals are high-quality, compliant, and compelling for healthcare clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proposal Automation: Configure and optimize proposal automation tools to streamline responses. Integrate models and workflows to enhance content analysis, readability, and compliance scoring.
  • Content Intelligence & Knowledge Management: Collaborate with content management and capture teams to develop and maintain AI-enhanced content and competitive intelligence libraries.
  • Collaboration & Enablement: Partner with proposal teams and Subject Matter Experts to align technology with healthcare-specific requirements. Work with the Operations Manager to design training programs and best practices for technology use in proposal workflows.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Leverage technology to automate compliance checks and improve readability.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Medicaid Managed Care.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting healthcare proposal development teams.
  • Proven experience developing tools and workflows for proposal automation.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with experience managing multiple projects and shifting priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise and a track record of meeting milestones in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate research into strategic recommendations.
  • Experience communicating effectively with technical and non-technical audiences at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and proposal automation technologies.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends during critical proposal development periods to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a proposal environment, preferably Medicaid Managed Care.
  • Experience maintaining AI-enhanced content and competitive intelligence libraries.
  • Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) certification(s).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$67,900.00 - $149,328.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
