PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible for leading the wastewater team in their daily duties. Has state license to meet our facility's requirements. Has passed NOCTI mechanical/electrical level 3 maintenance test. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Monitors mechanical waste water equipment such as pumps, motors, electrical, etc.
- Measures and monitors waste water chemicals.
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment such as adjusting belts, replacing belts, changing oils in pumps, etc.
- Operates pumps, dewatering equipment (tanker), compressors and chemical feed equipment.
- Performs cleanup and housekeeping tasks for work area, tools, equipment, facilities, and grounds.
- Leads up to seven (7) hourly wastewater/offal operators in their day-to-day assignments. Acts as subject matter expert for them.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Wastewater Manager, Outside Service Manager, or other company managers.
- Must have at passed the Level 2 maintenance NOCTI exam to apply for the position.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
- Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Hatchery or relative poultry industry experience.
- Basic math functions and skills.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
