About the job:

We supply equipment and systems to various industries, including food, wastewater, mining, oil, chemicals, etc. Our projects center on the decanter product line, and the scope complexity ranges from simple decanters with automation systems to sophisticated process systems. The mechanical project engineer will be responsible for system engineering and will be involved in all project phases. You will be part of a project team and, together with the project manager, will be responsible for delivering the scope on time and within budget. Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Piping setup and standardization of piping in the Team

  • Develop drawings and designs using AutoCAD and Inventor - we use Inventor Piping / Sovelia

  • Develop project-specific drawings including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, arrangement drawings, detailed drawings, 3D drawings and fabrication drawings.

  • Specify and select components to be used in the projects.

  • Assist the procurement department with sourcing the correct components.

  • Creating and maintaining parts numbers.

  • Develop project documentation, including procedures, datasheets, test records, etc.

  • Maintain records of submitted documentation, ensuring the customer transmittal procedure is respected.

  • Review technical specifications from customers and develop technical deviation lists.

  • Ensure that the quality management system is followed.

  • Conducting FAT of decanters and process modules.

The position is based in our office in Copenhagen. At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, allowing you to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. We expect a travel commitment of approximately 20 – 25 days per year.

What you know

You hold a degree in mechanical engineering and have 5–10 years of experience in project execution within the wastewater, fluid handling, or a related processing industry. You possess a strong understanding of P&ID, piping, and detailed engineering. Your background includes driving standardization within piping and flange specifications, and you are familiar with GMP, GEP, CE, and ATEX requirements. You also know relevant industry standards and regulations, including ISO, ASME, and sanitary guidelines.
