The opportunity 

HVDC Plant Engineering are now looking for several Mechanical Plant Design Engineer to join the Mechanical Plant Tender Design team (TPT). TPT is part of engineering at HVDC, with the mechanical and electrical engineering responsibilities for HVDC tenders on a global scale.

Tender Engineering at HVDC converter stations is about defining how high-voltage equipment is integrated into the overall plant design. We create layouts, bill of quantity, timelines for execution, risk analysis etc., all according to customer specifications and HVDC base design.

We bring electrical and mechanical systems to life - driving the green energy transition in close collaboration with our Plants Civil Engineering, Plants Electrical Engineering and Plants Project Management offices.

This role is based in Ludvika, Sweden.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions within budget and contractual requirements, ensuring safety and risk mitigation.
  • Prepare work plans, cost estimates, and review scope, budget, and schedules for assignments.
  • Interact with customers, officials, contractors, and supply chain to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Provide technical support to tender teams and ensure alignment in technical and commercial aspects.
  • Offer pre-tender support to Sales & Marketing and Bid & Proposals through technical discussions and high-level solutions.
  • Collaborate with base teams and product managers to develop optimal technical solutions.
  • Support resource planning, task distribution, and strategic tender issues such as scheduling and documentation.
  • Contribute to methodology improvements and maintain accurate tender documentation.
  • Stay updated on R&D initiatives and market trends, interfacing with internal stakeholders like supply chain and engineering teams.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance across all tendering processes and deliverables. 
     

Your background

  • Previous experience from mechanical plant design for HVDC converter station tenders, including the preparation of tender documents and design concepts according to customer specifications, applicable standards, and internal HE requirements. If you have been in a similar leading role, it will be considered as a plus.
  • Experience from 3D modelling of equipment layouts and design coordination with various internal and external disciplines.
  • Experience working with Bill of Quantities and engineering hours cost sheets.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as Siemens NX, Revit and PLM systems like Teamcenter.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
