At Brookhaven National Lab our Facilities and Operations group includes the Production Division. The Production Division provides mechanical, architectural, and civil services to build, support and maintain the Lab's infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide professional, technical, and planning support throughout the full project lifecycle with minimal supervision. 
  • Collaborate directly with Mechanical Supervisors to identify the necessary resources for scheduled work. 
  • Confirm the availability of labor, materials, accessibility, and planning controls before scheduling work; arrange alternatives when needed. 
  • Participate in daily meetings with Mechanical Supervisors to: 
  • Develop the schedule for the upcoming week. 
  • Review the status of current work orders. 
  • Discuss and prioritize new incoming work orders. 
  • Work closely with Mechanical Supervisors to ensure effective work planning and execution. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced performance through analysis of work order flow, project demands, and operational expectations. 
  • Report directly to the Mechanical Services General Supervisor. 
  • Provide support for additional planning responsibilities within the Production Division as assigned. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the mechanical trades. 
  • Proven experience coordinating multi-trade projects. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel. 
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed work plans. 
  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings. 
  • Experience in work planning, project planning, resource loading, and scheduling. 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience working in an HVAC and/or Plumbing
  • Expertise in Work Management Systems. 
  • Experience collaborating with engineers, multi-trade teams, and members of the scientific community. 
  • Specialized training in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). 
  • Familiarity with Work Planning and Controls (WPC). 
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, including managing energy from all potentially hazardous sources.

Other Information:

  • This is a fully onsite position located at BNL.
  • Visa sponsorship for this position is not available.
  • Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Brookhaven Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. The full salary range for this position is $89400 - $122167 / year. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate’s qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
