Mechanical Engineer (Woodend Lead)

Your Role

The purpose of the Mechanical Engineer (Woodend Lead) is to provide an Engineering presence at the Woodend Farm, representing the full Engineering function whilst also helping drive improvements between projects and operations.

This role reports into the Tullamarine Engineering management structure, providing this Woodend link whilst also providing on-site (TUL and Woodend) contractor management and team leadership coverage capabilities.

Your Responsibilities

• Engineering Department lead, representing all functions, on site at our Woodend facility
• Provide scoping and supervision at both Woodend and Tullamarine for contract labor as required
• Monitor the physical condition of the plant/farm and implement solutions to adverse trends
• Raise and implement Process Change Requests and Deviations/CAPAs where appropriate
• Investigate plant failures, determine the cause of failure and implement permanent solutions
• Liaise with other Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality groups to facilitate efficient operations and ensure department objectives of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost are achieved
• Participate in the development and implementation of the long term technical master plan for the area to ensure effective lifecycle management of the equipment and provision of critical spare parts

Your Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent Mechatronics etc)
• Experience within a manufacturing environment
• Previous manufacturing (GMP preferred) experience
• Experience in an agricultural setting (preferred, not required)
• SAP Experience (or other CCMS) + MS Office
• Leadership experience (preferred)
• Expected to be on site at Woodend and Tullamarine as required. As an indicative guide ~3x days at Woodend per/week estimated as the base requirement
