Mechanical Design Leader - POWER

The Mechanical Design Leader is a technical leadership role focused on the effective design and delivery of the Mechanical discipline within projects. This includes managing the discipline budget within the projects, ensuring operational excellence in design execution, implementing quality control measures, and driving efficiency initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure Robust P1 Mechanical Design: Lead and direct all P1 mechanical design activities, covering product function, NVH, Simulation planning, and Design for Assembly (DFA) to guarantee the technical soundness of the EDC portfolio.

• Global Technical Arbitration and Problem Solving: Act as the P1 worldwide Mechanical Design reviewer and be directly responsible for Red Box solving and Technical Design Reviews, ensuring the timely resolution of critical design issues across global P1 projects.

• Cross-Functional Technical Coordination: Ensure seamless technical alignment and integration by coordinating GTC support, the GTC EDC ME design leader, and the Mechatronic design leader.

• Drive Operational Excellence (QCD) and Process Compliance: Lead the Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance of the Mechanical Discipline within assigned projects and enforce compliance with our standardized discipline methodologies.

• Competency Development and Knowledge Capitalization: Actively support and develop the mechanical team’s technical skills through training and promote the reuse of functional design solutions to enrich discipline capitalization

Required skills and experience:

• 5 years of experience in Mechanical development in automotive engineering or relevant industries.

• Technical expertise and understanding of the Mechanical discipline, particularly in design principles and methodologies.

• Proven experience in electronic product design/compressor design and execution.

• Understanding of budget management and cost control principles.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

• Ability to problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Ability to lead and motivate a team of technical professionals.
