Mechanical Design Engineer

DeRegt Cables is -and has been- a prominent name in the design and manufacture of custom-engineered, specialty, dynamic or static cable solutions used in subsea applications. These have been applied in many areas, including the Oil & Energy sector, Defence, Seismic Exploration, Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV's) and Renewable Energy projects. DeRegt is part of Sercel, the Sensing & Monitoring business line of Viridien, an advanced technology, digital and Earth data company.

Job Summary

As a Design Engineer at DeRegt, you are responsible for designing high-quality, custom-made cable systems based on customer specifications. You play a key role in translating technical requirements into practical and innovative solutions, while ensuring compliance with applicable standards. You act as the technical point of contact for customers and work closely with internal teams to bring each unique project to life.

About the Team

You will be part of our Design department, where collaboration, technical expertise and innovation come together. The team works closely with Production, Sales and Project Management to deliver complex, tailor-made solutions for international clients across a wide range of industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Design custom cable systems based on customer specifications
• Ensure designs comply with electrical and technical standards
• Act as the primary technical contact for customers
• Provide updates on project progress and answer technical questions
• Support and advise Production on the implementation of your designs
• Monitor project planning and budgets, and identify deviations
• Align with your manager on progress, risks and improvements

Qualifications:

Required:

• HBO or WO degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong analytical skills and a structured way of working
• Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
• Good command of the Dutch & English language (written and spoken)

Preferred:

• Experience in a technical design environment
• Affinity with complex or custom-built products
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication skills in an international environment

• Competitive salary within scale G8 (€3.667 – €5.444 gross pm on full-time employment)
