About the Role

Service Stream are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Apprentice Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Dandenong South. In this role, you will support the preventative and reactive maintenance and construction of critical water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring assets operate safely and efficiently to serve the community.

Working alongside a supportive and experienced team, you will contribute to a strong safety culture while developing your technical skills and advancing your career.

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Dandenong South, VIC

Reporting Line: Mechanical Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor and working as part of a dynamic and supportive team, you will:

  • Lead with safety front of mind and be an advocate for our values Delivery, People and Accountability
  • Perform   planned   and   reactive   maintenance   on   various   water   and   wastewater infrastructure to ensure assets are performing at their best
  • Perform Wastewater, Water Construction and Maintenance tasks
  • Undertake and participate in job and plant hazard identification and incident notifications
  • Attend and actively participate in team and toolbox meetings
  • Lead or assist in the completion of a job through the mobile field computing system
  • Installation and augmentation of major assets/ plant/ installations
  • Maintenance job compliance and ensuring processes and procedures are followed to maintain a safe workplace

  • Construction induction training (Advantageous)
  • Ability to work in Australia with no restrictions
  • Current Drivers Licence (Required)
  • Heavy Rigid Truck Licence (Advantageous)
  • Advanced computer skills (email, word and excel)
  • Working at Heights (Advantageous)
  • First Aid (Advantageous)
  • You are punctual and hard working from prior work experience and references (Advantageous)
