Essential Responsibilities:
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and replace worn or defective components on heavy equipment including engines, transmissions, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Disassemble, reassemble, test, and validate equipment and major components to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications
Perform pre‑trip and walk‑around safety inspections, complete daily field‑level hazard assessments, and maintain a safe, compliant worksite
Complete accurate maintenance reports and required documentation to support operational and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with Fleet and Operations teams to develop and execute consumables purchasing plans and support equipment readiness
Act as a safety leader by promoting a healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with company, client, and legislated safety policies, and communicating effectively with management and team members
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanic role including at least 2 years working on heavy construction equipment in high‑pressure work environments
CDL A or B is strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of civil construction, current construction practices, and the ability to interpret construction documents
Proven experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heavy equipment including Vermeer, CAT, and John Deere or similar equipment
Proficiency in the safe and effective use of advanced hand tools, power tools, and precision alignment tools
Electrical experience considered an asset with the ability to adapt to evolving equipment and technologies
Work Conditions:
This is a site-based position that will require travel (25 - 50%) between various Ledcor offices and project work sites - company vehicle and per diem will be provided
