Summary
This role focuses on measurement technology automation and innovation. You will represent Quality & Reliability in driving digital and AI‑enabled measurement solutions, supporting new tool/product release and end‑to‑end manufacturing quality. A key focus is to build and optimize the digital measurement data flow from sensor, equipment and fixtures through middleware/MES to analytics, reporting and closed‑loop control.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as measurement SME for Quality & Reliability; define in‑process and end‑of‑line measurement strategies (AOI, VMM, contact and in‑line systems).
- Design and deploy connected measurement architectures, including equipment integration, data interfaces and standard data models, to realize automatic and reliable data collection from measurement devices, gauges and fixtures.
- Work closely with IT/OT, MES and automation teams to ensure robust data transmission, storage and contextualization (e.g. linking measurement results with lot, tool, recipe, process parameters) along the full data pipeline.
- Design and deploy digital, connected measurement architectures with automatic data capture to MES/SCADA and closed‑loop process control.
- Lead development of measurement data analytics, SPC and reporting dashboards to enable real‑time, data‑driven decisions for manufacturing, engineering and quality teams.
- Explore and apply AI/ML and computer‑vision solutions for predictive quality and automated defect detection based on large‑scale measurement datasets.
- Define measurement standards, roadmap and governance; support NPI and cross‑functional problem solving.
- Lead measurement‑related digitalization projects and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, IT/OT and external vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Automation, Mechatronics, Measurement/Metrology or related fields.
- 8+ years’ experience in digital IoT / smart measurement / virtual tool solutions in precision equipment or advanced manufacturing.
- Proven hands‑on experience in integrating measurement systems into production and enterprise IT landscape, including:
- Data connectivity between measurement tools (AOI, CMM/VMM, gauges, sensors, test benches) and middleware/MES/SCADA/QMS.
- Definition and implementation of data interfaces/protocols (e.g. OPC UA, SECS/GEM, MQTT, REST APIs) and standard data structures.
- Ensuring data integrity, traceability and timely availability along the measurement data flow for SPC, release and feedback control.
- Hands‑on experience integrating metrology systems with MES/SCADA for auto data capture and closed‑loop control.
- Knowledge of SPC, MSA and reporting tools; exposure to AI/ML or vision‑based inspection preferred.
- Strong project management, communication and stakeholder influence skills.
- Good command of English and Chinese; Cantonese is a plus.
