 Compensation Details:  $27-$33/hour

 

Position Summary:

The role of the MDU Estimator is to provide site surveys for potential full building installs at MDU buildings, and estimate a cost evaluation of parts, labor and any other expenses that could be associated to the full building installation. They will work closely with Field service Management and MDU Sales team to provide all necessary information related to their estimated project and facilitate decision making on full building install opportunities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

MDU Estimator is a full-time (40 hours per week non-exempt/hourly position. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday. Overtime is anticipated for this position. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand. Position can be remote.

Travel:
Travel is expected for this position. A valid California Driver’s License for three years and Clean DMV is required.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 The MDU Estimator position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

  • Create, update, and maintain internal project estimates, maps, documents, graphic displays
  • Maintain thorough working knowledge of applicable estimating processes
  • Estimating time and materials for MDU Full Building Installs
  • Establishing cost analysis
  • Designing installation plans – experience with PowerPoint or adobe design
  • Continuing to find creative installation methods to further expand Full Building Installs
  • Customer/public/municipal interactions and relations/problem solving
  • Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Serving as a point of contact for MDU Foreman and Sales teams to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Communicating with Field Service Management and MDU Sales Team to keep the project aligned with their goals
  • Apply for and maintain permits
  • Working with Plant when construction and Conduit leasing is needed.
  • Basic understanding of fiber cable types and GPON fiber design
  • Ability to read and understand building blueprints
