Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a MBSE Systems Engineer 1/2 located in Boulder, CO.

What you’ll get to do?

 As a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Systems Engineer on this team, you will support the development of the system architectures, requirement decomposition, and model-based analysis for RF segment stems across multiple ground entry point programs. You will contribute to system definition, requirements management, verification planning, and system integration activities from early program development through system test and verification.

In this role, you will collaborate with senior engineers, program leadership, and customers to ensure technical requirements and system architecture are well defined and aligned across the program lifecycle. You will help develop and maintain system models and engineering artifacts within MBSE tools, supporting the program’s authoritative source of technical information and contributing to system performance and mission success.

This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled as either a Level 1 or a Level 2.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 1:

  • 0 years of relevant experience with Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
  • Demonstrated experience quickly learning new concepts and approaches
  • Experience in the design, development, and integration of ground system software, networking, and/or RF antenna programs.
  • Active Secret clearance required at time of application

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:

  • 2 years of relevant experience with Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 0 years with Masters
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
  • Demonstrated experience quickly learning new concepts and approaches
  • Experience in the design, development, and integration of ground system software, networking, and/or RF antenna programs.
  • Active Secret clearance required at time of application

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE), SysML and Cameo
  • Familiarity with space vehicle ground segment design
  • Proven ability to iterate quickly on design and development processes, incorporating feedback and making improvements
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers and customers
  • Experience integrating MBSE models with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS/DNG) to support end-to-end traceability and verification planning.
  • Experience with technical writing and team building skills

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
