Position Summary:
Job Title: MBP Scientist II
Reports to: MBP Team Leader
Position Location: Brisbane, Australia
(12 Month Fixed Term Opportunity)
This role sits within the Brisbane / Drug Substance Division - One of the five divisions that make up the Pharma Services Group. At the Brisbane site, we specialise in GMP manufacturing and commercialisation of large molecule biologics, applying proven manufacturing approaches. This manufacturing role supports the media and buffer (MBP) department to deliver the solutions required for our global clients in the BioPharma sectors.
Key responsibilities:
  • Dispense raw materials and formulate media and buffer solutions (preparations of multiple 1000 L batches per day) in compliance with production protocols.
  • Completion of production protocols with data collection/calculations in compliance with ALCOA++ principles.
  • Corrective and preventive actions and support the timely closure deviation reports and change controls. Proactively author updates to department standard operating procedures and job safety analysis.
  • A pro-active demeanour and personal initiative is encouraged to identify and overcome practical problems and propose possible solutions.
  • Proactively adhere with the Patheon cGMP Quality Management System and the Patheon EH&S requirements.
  • Adhere to OHS policies and procedures and ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment.
  • Work alongside Quality Assurance, Engineering, Supply Chain and Process Engineer departments when required to meet production demands.

 Skills & Attributes
  • Bachelor Degree in Science/Biotech/Engineering related fields is preferred.
  • Strong personal organisational, scheduling, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised within a team environment.
  • Good communication, flexibility, reliability, and assertiveness
  • Responsible and proactive.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP environment is preferred.
