About This Opportunity  

Do you have experience with delivering events, seminars and a proven track record with professional development workshops? We are seeking an experienced MBA Career Consultant to join our team whilst one of our colleagues is undertaking a secondment opportunities elsewhere within our University 

 

You will develop personal and professional outcomes for MBA students and alumni. The aim is to provide industry connections and graduate outcomes to enhance the student experience and strengthen engagement with industry. 

 

Key responsibilities will include: 

 

Career Development: Build strong career relationships with MBA students by developing career plans, delivering targeted skills workshops and mentoring, and working with UQ stakeholders to align career development with industry needs and the MBA program. 

 

Industry Engagement and Recruitment: Build industry networks to connect UQ MBA students and graduates with employment opportunities, track placement success, strengthen alumni engagement, and promote MBA graduates to employers through events and industry representation. 

 

Business Development: Participate in MBA student recruitment activities, information evenings etc. (and undertake interstate travel as required). 

 

Management Information: Collect and report data on student advisory and placement activities, develop KPIs to measure outcomes, and coordinate resources to support effective service delivery and student participation.

 

About You

  • A degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or similar with at least four years subsequent relevant experience, or extensive experience and management expertise in an area related to employment / career development / senior executive recruitment or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in career development, senior executive recruitment experience and / or employment services.
  • Demonstrated experience in data management systems and utilising CRMs, LinkedIn, content management systems and online webinar platforms.
  • A proven proactive approach to cultivating business opportunities within a business-to-business environment with the ability to negotiate access to a strong network of industry connections.
  • In-depth knowledge of key target sector employment requirements, and MBA employment trends.
  • High level presentation and communication skills including effective listening, the ability to develop rapport, and to influence and persuade key stakeholders including employers, senior managers, academics and students.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to staff, students, student bodies / groups, alumni, and industry.

Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of the right to work in Australia. This may also include checks relating to gender-based violence matters or other integrity and conduct requirements.
