Materials Supervisor

The Materials Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the work of employees who transport materials, supplies, and finished products.  This position will oversee and lead the shipping and receiving departments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or GED. A college degree is preferred.

Experience: At least three years of experience in a related area with some supervisory experience, preferred.

Travel: 0-10%

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 6 AM and 6 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hires and trains materials handlers.
  • Oversees the daily workflow and scheduling of the Material’s department.
  • Maintains inventory, which includes keeping records in an inventory management system, acquiring additional stock as required, and distributing items from stock to fulfill requisitions.
  • Ensures safe operation of equipment used to move and transport materials to and from the storage areas of the facility.
  • Organizes and coordinates activities and staff schedules, ensuring fulfillment goals are met and that shipments are timely, accurate, and undamaged.
  • Collaborates with managers and other departments to develop and modify materials handling processes and procedures.
  • Track and update daily, weekly, and monthly metrics and reports; drive improvements in key metrics (including safety, accuracy and quality, on-time delivery, financial performance, and excellence thru people). Manage documents and projects as assigned.
  • Works with customers / job sites on all aspects of the shipping process.
  • Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of team members; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations.
  • Monitors the unloading or loading of all materials into or out of the facility. Supervise the movement of material to and from storage in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, shipping, storage, and distribution of all items either from suppliers or production shops ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
  • Actively participates in Faith’s hiring referral and mentoring program, as appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
