OVERVIEW:

Responsible for commercial aspects of materials sourcing or procurement, including but not limited to new materials vendor/technologies development, existing vendors maintenance; Process deep material expertise, strong commercial negotiation skills and a proven ability in supplier management to ensure optimal cost, quality and supply continuity.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic sourcing and supplier management on poly materials (plastic resin), surface treatment materials(such as ceramic, PTFE, powder, and silicone), paint and inks.
  • Develop and manage the relationship with materials, i.e. NDA, Master Supply Agreements, price negotiation, volume rebate, score card, coordinate the service after sales etc.
  • Provide business acumen and technical expertise to cross-functional teams. Propose viable solutions for New Products Development and existing products.
  • Drive Cost Improvement Programs at sub-tier levels. Collaborate with Category Leaders to realize P&L impacts at Finish Goods level.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of commodity material price trends(e.g., PP,ABS, PC, Steel, chemical feedstocks), build cost models, and forecast market shifts to develop proactive sourcing strategies that mitigate risk and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Technical collaboration with engineers, Product Development and Marketing and suppliers. Provide expert input on material selection, innovate, design and implement simple and elegant solutions.
  • Sense of monitoring global market trends, raw materials price fluctuations, and supply-demand dynamics for key materials

Analyze the impact of commodity indices and provide proactive risk mitigation strategies

  • Provide regular reports and insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Cost down target achievement assigned by SN global team
  • Continuous benchmark follow-up on resin and steel price and share with commercial team/EEP team
  • Deliver regular and timely updates on materials strategies, supplier strategies, alternative sourcing, and cost improvement opportunities.
  • Deliver daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reports or summaries as assigned by direct manager in Supply chain team.
  • Multi-cultural working style to communicate and grow with team

 

Experience: 

  • At least 8-10 years’ experience (sourcing or procurement, supply chain, Engineering etc) in home appliances or similar products/industry with solid experience and track record of working for multi-national firm.
  • Sophisticated with resin/chemical materials cost as focus and its market mode and at least over 5 years raw material management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of material specifications, manufacturing processes, and cost structures
  • Knowledge on painting, coating and injection is a plus
  • Proficient in verbal and written English and Mandarin; able to communicate with China suppliers as well as overseas customers independently
  • Self-motivated, Independent, able to work effectively across Functions
  • Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.PM experience will be preferred skill.

  • Team co-operation spirit and related skills,
  • Skilled in Computer languages such as Microsoft Office, and Project
  • Education/Certifications/Affiliations
  • Bachelor degree (or above) in materials science or polymer science, chemical engineer or related discipline preferred.
  • MBA or CPSM will be an advantage.

 

Travel Requirements

  • Travel through East/South China (Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, etc.)
