Key Responsibilities
Own MCOS forecast and delivery for assigned scope; identify gaps to AOP targets and drive executable gap‑closure plans.
Develop, maintain, and execute MCOS pipeline across multiple lanes, including P2P, DCRs, resourcing, configurations, co‑innovation, and should‑cost initiatives.
Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory and cost exposure.
Ensure accurate, timely MCOS and materials cost reporting aligned to BU, AOP, and executive requirements.
Functional Knowledge
- Materials management, sourcing, and supplier performance management
- MCOS / cost‑reduction methodologies and cost tracking tools (e.g., MCOS, MCM or similar)
- Supplier risk assessment, total landed cost, and cost drivers
- Change control, commercialization, and qualification processes
- Should‑cost and value analysis fundamentals
Business Expertise
- Financial acumen to forecast savings, validate cost logic, and assess execution readiness
- Understanding of make‑versus‑buy and outsourcing trade‑offs
- Ability to balance cost, schedule, quality, and supply continuity
- Awareness of short‑term execution needs and out‑year cost outlook
- Data‑driven decision making aligned to AOP and business priorities
Leadership
- Influence without authority across Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain

- Proactively surface risks, headwinds, and mitigation plans to leadership
- Serve as subject matter expert for MCOS tools, processes, and reporting standards

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or related field
- Experience in materials management, sourcing, cost management, manufacturing, or engineering‑adjacent roles
- Strong analytical capability with demonstrated ability to translate data into executable cost actions
- Proven success managing multiple initiatives in a matrixed, cross‑functional environment
- Strong written, verbal, and executive‑level communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MCOS, cost‑out, or commodity management programs
- Familiarity with MCOS / MCM or comparable cost‑tracking systems
- Experience driving cost reduction through design change, resourcing, supplier negotiations, or should‑cost analysis
- Demonstrated ability to influence engineering and operations partners to close cost gaps
Role Summary
The Materials Program Manager (MPM) is responsible for driving material readiness and cost optimization across assigned products and programs. This role owns MCOS forecasting and delivery while coordinating material strategy, sourcing execution, and cross‑functional alignment to ensure cost, schedule, and quality objectives are met. The MPM operates in a matrixed environment, influencing engineering, supply chain, suppliers, and operations to deliver sustainable cost reduction through disciplined execution.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
