Indian River Hospital is looking to add a Materials Management Supervisor to the team who will oversee eight direct reports within the Materials department. In this role, you will be responsible for directing the daily activities of the storeroom and Receiving departments as well as the activities relating to the storage and distribution of supplies, equipment and materials as needed in the Manager's absence. You will perform cycle counts and physical inventories as well as use the Material Management Information System to order, track, and deliver products. This role is integral to supporting Cleveland Clinic's mission and vision by ensuring the procurement of various medical supplies and equipment required for daily patient care. This directly contributes to delivering exceptional patient care, a core tenet of our commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered services. 

A caregiver in this position works days from 5:30AM – 2:30PM. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Supervise the storeroom, receiving and other Material Management activities in Manager’s absence. 

  • Develop work schedule for technicians, assign tasks to staff and inspect work. 

  • Complete staff performance reviews, establish department goals and organize processes. 

  • Develop training and education process for department tasks. 

  • Verify schedules vs. Kronos timekeeping records.  

  • Serve as department timekeeper as needed. 

  • Use a handheld computer device to calculate supply needs and inventory requirements. 

  • Demonstrate use of TQI techniques and philosophies. 

  • Seek to eliminate errors and consistently improve service to customers. 

  • Enter data into Material Management Information System to record requisitions, receivers and returns. 

  • Verify system information, take appropriate steps to reconcile and research errors to find causes. 

  • Conduct audits of delivery locations. 

  • Direct the delivery of supplies, equipment, forms, mail and other items to requesting locations. 

  • Deliver emergency requests and overnight and next day deliveries promptly. 

  • Supervise the receiving process, verify quantity and product information and compare it to the Purchase Order. 

  • Notify supervisor of discrepancies and assist with reconciliation. 

  • Investigate mis-shipped items and correct problems. 

  • Maintain and readjust established par level information or exchange cart information to minimize shortages and maintain customer service levels. 

  • Record signatures for delivery purposes, inspect packages for damage and report any damage. 

  • Prepare outgoing packages and calculate and record shipping costs. 

  • Count and verify supplies in inventory and report discrepancies. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • Reliable transportation to travel to multiple sites 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Computer/software skills  


Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.

  • May require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetings.

  • Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.

  • Must have own transportation due to travel to multiple sites.
