$20.80 - $31.20EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent with one year experience in purchasing, shipping, or receiving materials. Associate's degree preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs accurate PeopleSoft on-line purchase requests while striving to adhere to the departmental budget. Works to control operating room costs and maintain optimum inventory levels.
2. Ensures service specific, OR par-stock and generic supplies are properly maintained in designated locations for distribution throughout all sites in the Operating Room.
3. Rotates all inventory, eliminates expired and unused supplies. Utilizes inventory skills to improve inventory turns. Conducts monthly inventory cycle counts. Works daily to keep the inventory database up to date and accurate for all current and newly added supplies.
4. Works with vendors/distributors to return low usage, obsolete and/or overstocked supplies for exchange or credit. Helps to resolve manufacturer recalls as quickly as possible to promote patient safety. Obtains appropriate FDA approvals and any supplemental Medicare charge codes when necessary.
5. Investigates and resolves any problems associated with orders: backorders, errors, miscommunication, lost shipments, price discrepancies and invoice discrepancies.
6. Maintains clean and orderly work areas. Helps to organize and maintain all par stock locations within Surgical Services. Follows Joint Commission standards and Fire Marshall Requirements.
7. Works as a team with co-workers to promote a cooperative work environment. Demonstrates and supports Lifewings and ICARE principles. Serves as a teacher and mentor to others.
8. Schedules meetings with vendors and other hospital department managers, as needed. Ensures accurate and complete accounting of all incoming freight. 9. Ensures prompt processing of items in the following order: perishable items, express packages, and ground deliveries.
10. Additional job duties may require transport of other material throughout the facility including but not limited to mail and linen.
