Collins Aerospace is looking for a Materials Associate to join our team, supporting shipping and other logistics functions for our Wilson, NC location. In this role, you will contribute directly to the quality and reliability of our logistics processes in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This is a 1st shift position with the following hours: Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM-4:30 PM (Weekend overtime may be required)

What You Will Do:

  • Accurately pack and prepare products for shipment according to company guidelines and customer specifications. 

  • Work closely with the delivery assurance team to ensure timely and accurate processing of outgoing orders. 

  • Keep detailed records of inventory, shipments, and any discrepancies to ensure proper stock levels and traceability. 

  • Complete and manage all necessary shipping documentation, including labels, packing slips, and shipping manifests. 

  • Operate forklifts or other machinery to load and unload goods efficiently and safely. 

  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and audits to verify stock levels and ensure accuracy. 

  • Keep your work area organized and clean, following housekeeping protocols to ensure a safe and efficient workspace. 

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically have High school diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline, with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

  • Prior logistics experience and/or prior experience with SAP or similar ERP system.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Current training in appropriate shipping regulations, hazardous/dangerous goods packaging and shipping, government, international, ocean air, parcel and LTL truck shipments.  Maintain as required. 

  • Skills in label making, proper label application, paperwork preparation, and shipment packing. 

  • HazMat certification.

  • Prior experience with government packaging.

  • Customer portal experience.

  • The ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office, shipping carrier manifest software, and labeling. 

  • Intermediate computer skills in terms of typing, navigating screens and learning new software programs.
