YOUR ROLE

As a Material Planning and Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials and purchased components to support production schedules. This role manages MRP execution, supplier releases, and master data accuracy within SAP, while maintaining continuous communication with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams. You will play a critical role in balancing inventory levels, supporting new launches, and preventing production disruptions in an automotive manufacturing environment.


 

Responsibilities:

  • Create, review, and analyze supplier releases (MRP, EDI, Web portals) and defined shipping windows.
  • Ensure material availability to meet production schedules for raw materials and purchased components.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of SAP Material Master Data, especially MRP-relevant parameters such as:
  • Minimum lot sizes
  • Safety stock and safety time
  • In-transit time and pick-up days
  • Analyze raw material and purchased part inventories and requirements on a daily basis, including future forecasts.
  • Run and monitor MRP for assigned materials, ensuring compliance with inventory targets and release accuracy.
  • Follow up daily with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, quantities, capacity constraints, and past due shipments.
  • Escalate supplier issues and develop run-out or recovery plans when delivery risks are identified.
  • Coordinate with 3PL providers or carriers to manage pick-up and delivery windows.
  • Run and review Past Due Reports and ASN reports, communicate and adjust cumulative quantities (CUMs) with suppliers.
  • Participate in engineering changes and new program launch meetings.
  • Monitor material inventories by tracking production progress and identifying factors that may impact schedules.
  • Communicate potential production or line disruptions caused by supplier issues, credit holds, quality or commercial concerns to leadership.
  • Prepare shipping documentation in SAP for return shipments (RMAs).
  • Validate and maintain supplier master data, including contact details and ship-from locations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and PPE requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
