In Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.

The Mission Capability Verification Center within Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities is searching for a Manufacturing Planner to manage and lead acquisitions for our Test Equipment team at White Sands Missile Range, NM.

Support needs may occur over weekends or holidays, and may require extended hours. This position is an Onsite role at WSMR located in White Sands, NM.

The Material Planner will resolve test equipment and prototype manufacturing issues based on knowledge of engineering design, need, and final intended application. This role includes generating and monitoring the progression of multiple requisitions through the procurement cycle, facilitating resolution of procurement issues, and ensuring items are delivered to meet customers’ schedules.

The Material Planner will utilize Engineering Manufacturing Management System (EMMS) and MatTrack to build/maintain indentured build of materials (IBOMS), generate material requisitions, and provide material/work order status to customers. You Will generate work orders using Rapid and Engineering Manufacturing Management System (EMMS) across the different shops. 

You will collaborate with multi-disciplined teams while supporting multiple projects to achieve timely execution and completion of established goals, as well as support general facility maintenance. You will work in an engineering environment to support and facilitate testing of engineering hardware in accordance with customer and internal requirements and industry standards.

What You Will Do

  • Actively contribute to the design, acquisition, and manufacturing of complex test equipment including cables, chassis, electro/mechanical fixtures

  • Participate in engineering design reviews

  • Manage and maintain build configuration and quality history records

  • Acquire, track, manage material from procurement through final delivery of completed test sets

  • Assist in resolving manufacturing issues and overseeing delivery of final products to internal/external customers

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of relevant engineering experience interpreting engineering drawings related to electrical instrumentation, assemblies, cables, chassis, electro-mechanical assemblies

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering lab environment area

  • Experience with material procurement

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Previous experience working with test equipment or prototype engineering hardware

  • Experience working with Excel

  • Experience maintaining configuration control of products and drawings

  • Experience interfacing directly with customers in an engineering/manufacturing environment

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software and database applications

  • Experience with the design, use, and fabrication of electrical instrumentation

  • Experience dealing with supply chain and material obsolescence issues

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
