As a Material Handler at our new facility in Richmond, BC you will be a vital part of our manufacturing operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of materials within the factory. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to meet production schedules, maintain safety standards, and uphold our commitment to operational excellence. Physically move products within the factory to designated work centers or part locations, supporting seamless production flow.
Assist in job order kitting and material movement activities to ensure timely availability of parts.
Collaborate closely with planning and manufacturing supervisors to keep production on schedule.
Communicate with Production and Purchasing teams regarding material outages or shortages to minimize disruptions.
Verify inventories and confirm part locations as needed to maintain accurate stock levels.
Support the company’s safety initiatives by practicing safe work habits and using required safety equipment to promote a Zero Lost Time accident environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support team objectives and operational needs.
In this role, you will be part of our manufacturing support team, working alongside production staff and reporting to the supervisor of materials or logistics. Your efforts will contribute to a collaborative environment focused on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
At least 1 year of experience in material handling or a similar work environment.
Mechanical aptitude and comfort with physical tasks.
Basic knowledge of ERP or MRP systems is a plus.
Reasonable proficiency in English for training, understanding instructions, and safety communication.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs on occasion without assistance.
Strong time management and prioritization skills.
Familiarity with LEAN principles is an asset, supporting our commitment to continuous improvement.
Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in material handling.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
The pay range is $18 - $21 per hour. Exact compensation will be based on experience, education and other job-related factors.
