As the Material Damage Assistant Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of MD associates with varying responsibilities such as preparing damage appraisals or reviewing provided estimates. This includes monitoring core results such as production, timeliness, and accuracy. You will also work with the Claims team on escalations and contribute to department training. This person works well under minimal supervision using company best practices and takes ownership of their personal brand.

What you’ll do
- Review staff estimates for accuracy, provide authority to resolution
- Lead field appraisal associates in select markets to include territory management
- Mitigate expenses related to material damage inspection and evaluation
- Report out on team core metric performance
- Assist with negotiations and triage or resolve escalations, as needed
- Collaborate with the claims team on process or workflow improvements
- Build relationships with classic and exotic repairers
- Lead and co-lead Material Damage projects
- Develop Employees technically and in support of a growth mindset
- Support team morale and engagement
- Monitor and react to NPS survey responses
- Remain up to date on compliance and licensing requirements
- Collaborate with vendors such as CCC and Copart to improve claim experience
- Interview and hire as needed
- Timely address personnel matters
- Lead or assist with department initiatives
- Draft responses to complaints as needed
- Approve check approvals in a timely fashion
- Update and provide insight on industry and compliance changes
- Prepare and rollout state specific handling guidelines in catastrophic events
- Monitor and coach for continuous improvement on claim handling, workflow and self-develop
- Manage team morale and engagement
- Lead and potentially deploy for catastrophe response
