Material Control Coordinator

TSC’s Defense and Space Systems Division, located in Huntsville, AL (Voyager), is seeking a motivated and solutions-oriented Material Control Coordinator II to join our team.  This essential role within our manufacturing facility is critical for ensuring efficient material flow and maintaining accurate inventory control, which directly contributes to achieving on-time deliveries.  This role will mainly interface with the Material Control Manager, Manufacturing Manager, and Planning. Ideal Material Control Coordinator II candidate will be detail oriented and capable of completing duties under general supervision.

Responsibilities: 

  • Parts Kitting - pulling parts from system generated pick list, verifying picked parts, identifying inventory discrepancies, and notifying appropriate parties to correct.
  • Audit parts kit – verify parts kit against provided pick list, moving parts to appropriate kit location, and issuing parts to Project or Manufacturing Order.
  • Return to Stock - counting parts returned from manufacturing floor after manufacturing order builds, researching and correcting discrepancies in system versus physical quantities being returned, and placing parts into the appropriate storeroom locations both physically and systemically.
  • Part Storage/Issuance - packaging parts per quality standards, printing and labeling parts, pulling requested parts, and issuing parts systemically to the correct project/manufacturing order.
  • Per submitted requests, pull material and issue to Project or Manufacturing Order.
  • Shipping/Receiving - receiving incoming material and preparing and processing outgoing shipments.

Required Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma and 1-2 years of inventory control experience
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Employee may frequently be required to stand; walk; use fine motor skills to handle, feel objects, tools, or controls as well as required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Excellent communication and follow up skills
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Forklift experience or willingness to be trained
  • Familiarity in ERP & MES System

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of inventory control experience
  • Familiarity with Costpoint Planning, Purchasing and Material Management Modules
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Excel
