Job Summary

Develops and manages a dynamic Master Production Schedule (MPS) for the unit(s) in their scope to align production activities with customer flight schedules, seasonal menu changes, and capacity constraints. Works cross-functionally with Operations, Labor Planning, Materials Planning, and Technology to build, enhance, and maintain data and resources, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and issue resolution required to support the entire lifecycle of catering all components of airline customer services required for an accurately and fully stocked flight and on-time departure.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

-Develops and manages all phases of the Master Production Schedule (MPS), aligning demand and capacity planning across the unit(s) for the specific customer flight dates, departure times and menu schedules.

 -Constantly produces and updates long term 3-to-6-month plans, adjusting for hot kitchen, make & pack, capacity, flight changes and additions, and all other relevant factors on a medium term/monthly and short term/weekly & daily basis.

- Collaborates with Materials Planning and Labor Planning representatives to ensure they’re working from a current MPS as a foundational component to plan sufficient materials and delivery dates and times, and adequate staffing to meet flight demand, adjusting for customer and flight schedule changes, holidays, seasonal trends, etc.

 -Collaborates with the Manager on Duty (MOD), dispatchers and floor supervisors and managers throughout the workday to execute the master plan, make adjustments as needed, and ensure all parties impacted by changes are informed.

-Designs and generates regular and ad hoc reports of schedules, performance, variance, and analysis to report on activity, support decision-making, and support recommendations for changes.
– Monitors adherence to the Master Production Schedule (MPS)
– Conducts regular audits to verify schedule compliance
– Identifies deviations and drives timely corrective actions
– Ensures operational processes follow established timelines and standards
– Works closely with operational leaders to embed MPS compliance into daily routines
 -Completes all company required training.
 -Complies with all company policies, procedures and processes.
 -Performs special projects and other duties as may be assigned by management.

Core Competencies and Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, business management or related technical/business field is required.

Work Experience
At least ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional experience in a combination of production planning, scheduling, supply chain management, preferably in airline catering or large food production facility or restaurant chain.
-Demonstrated experience facilitating collaborative planning processes with other teams and departments that are key partners in any stage of production scheduling activities.
-Experience in Change Management and Re-Engineering workflows, processes, systems and associated communication with leaders, peers and employees for support, participation & buy-in

Technical Skills
-CPIM (Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution) or CTSC (Certified in Transformation for Supply Chain) certification from APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society), or significant progress towards certification, is strongly preferred.

Core Competencies Required

-Thorough understanding of ERP system implementation and data management, as would be achieved through hands-on experience with use, data governance and data quality assurance.
-Strong analytical and organizational skills for data interpretation, root cause analysis, trend identification which support informed recommended solutions, corrections, & efficiencies.
