Key Responsibilities
1. Master Data Management
Create, maintain, and optimize material master data, info records, source lists, and condition records.
Perform mass maintenance tasks using tools like LSMW and MM17.
Act as SPOC for master data queries across plants in India.
Ensure compliance with internal standards and maintain high-quality data practices.
2. Variant Configuration (VC) Coding & Analysis
Maintain configurable product data in SAP LO-VC (transitioning to S4 AVC).
Perform consistency checks of specifications.
Create/manage sales & technical characteristics, BOMs, variant tables, constraints, selection rules, and pricing tables.
Conduct unit testing in the configurator.
3. Issue Resolution & Operational Support
Resolve issues related to P2P processes, stock transfers, and third-party systems.
Address SAP-related issues and ensure smooth integration with external systems.
Provide timely support to stakeholders within defined turnaround times.
Generate SAP reports and support operational decision-making.
4. Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives
Drive process improvement projects related to master data and procurement operations.
Develop standardized workflows, SOPs, and process flows.
Support strategic data excellence initiatives for supply chain functions.
5. Stakeholder Management & Analytics
Maintain KPIs and provide analytics to monitor and improve master data performance.
Collaborate with procurement managers and business partners.
Provide leadership in data management activities and develop new practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Train and cross-train team members to ensure knowledge sharing and process continuity.
Required Competencies
Technical Skills:
Experience with LO-VC programming logic.
Strong knowledge of SAP MM/MDM or similar modules (SAP MM certification preferred). Good to have.
Experience with material master data creation/extension, info records, source lists, LSMW.
Understanding of P2P processes, stock transfers, pricing, and taxation.
Familiarity with third-party systems (Coupa, Jaggaer).
Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Analytical & Organizational Skills:
Strong self-organization and ability to manage complex scenarios.
Ability to learn and apply MED-specific rules.
Communication & Collaboration:
Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to document processes and describe context clearly.
Strong stakeholder management and prioritization skills.
Experience:
10+ years in Master Data Management or ERP/CRM systems.
Prior exposure to product-side operations (industrial companies preferred).
Ability to handle large databases and derive insights.
