Job Purpose
The Master Data Lead (ANZ) is accountable for the governance, quality, and enablement of product, customer, and pricing master data supporting innovation, range changes, customer execution, and business‑as‑usual operations across Australia and New Zealand.
The role ensures that master data is accurately created, modified, approved, and communicated throughout its lifecycle, enabling speed to market, revenue accuracy, customer satisfaction, and regulatory confidence.
The Master Data Lead acts as the ANZ authority on master data governance, including oversight of master data processes executed by Global Customer Hub teams, and serves as the senior escalation point for master‑data‑related risks impacting business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Master Data Governance & Quality
Own governance of product, customer, and pricing master data across the ANZ business
Define and enforce standards for master data creation, modification, approval, and communication
Ensure alignment between ANZ requirements and globally managed master data processes, including those operated by Global Customer Hub teams
Act as escalation point for data integrity, pricing accuracy, customer setup, or compliance risks
Customer & Pricing Master Data
Govern customer master data to ensure accurate customer setup, hierarchy, and commercial enablement
Govern pricing master data in partnership with CSP, Finance, and global stakeholders
Ensure customer and pricing changes are controlled, traceable, and clearly communicated to downstream systems and business users
Innovation & Change Enablement
Own and continuously improve the innovation master data workflow, ensuring timely and accurate creation of product, customer, and pricing master data to support innovation and range change delivery
Partner with R&D, CSP, Planning, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure master data is locked, validated, and fit for purpose at critical business milestones
Identify and resolve systemic data bottlenecks impacting speed to market
Operational Leadership
Provide operational oversight of ANZ Master Data Management & CD Business Services delivered through offshore and third‑party teams, setting priorities, standards, and ways of working, and ensuring delivery against agreed SLAs and KPIs
Govern service delivery performed by Global Customer Hubs and third‑party providers, ensuring clear accountability and effective issue resolution
Cross‑Functional & Global Enablement
Act as the ANZ point of contact for master data topics with Global Customer Hub teams, UniOps, and technology partners
Ensure clear governance boundaries and effective hand‑offs between local and global teams
Support customer execution, ecommerce, and regulatory requirements through strong master data foundations
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
Drive future‑focused transformation of master data governance and processes, including the responsible adoption of automation and AI‑enabled capabilities to improve data quality, speed, and control
Lead sustainable improvements that reduce manual effort and operational risk
People & Knowledge Leadership
Build resilience in ANZ master data capability through strong documentation, standards, and governance
Ensure effective knowledge transfer to reduce key‑person dependency
Coach stakeholders to improve data literacy and upstream data quality behaviours
What you'll bring
Essential
Strong experience in master data management across product, customer, and pricing domains
Proven experience governing end‑to‑end master data processes in a complex enterprise environment
Experience working with globally distributed teams or shared service models
Ability to balance strong governance with commercial pragmatism.
Confident stakeholder engagement across R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer teams
Desirable
Exposure to enterprise ERP‑driven master data environments.
Experience with automation or AI‑enabled approaches in data, governance, or process improvement contexts.
Experience working with third‑party or outsourced delivery partners.
