Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Massage Therapist to support a unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities
The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing professional massage therapy services, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This role involves delivering tailored therapeutic treatments and demonstrating exceptional customer service skills. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Professional Massage Services:
- Delivering high-quality massage therapy sessions in accordance with professional standards and customer needs.
- Offering a variety of techniques and therapeutic services tailored to alleviate pain, reduce stress, and promote relaxation.
- Understanding and addressing individual client requirements while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
Certifications and Training:
- Maintaining certification in Massage Therapy and continually updating skills and knowledge through ongoing professional development.
- Holding and maintaining current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, ensuring preparedness for emergency situations.
- Participating in continuous training in customer service techniques to enhance the client experience.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhering to safety protocols and sanitation standards to ensure a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
- Ensuring required certifications are updated annually in compliance with operational and professional expectations.
Client Engagement:
- Educating clients on the benefits of massage therapy and recommended techniques or schedules for improving overall wellness.
- Addressing client concerns and feedback to ensure a positive and relaxing experience.
- Working collaboratively with other team members to contribute to a welcoming and cohesive environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Certification in Massage Therapy.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, with a commitment to annually update these certifications.
- A minimum of six (6) months of experience in massage therapy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work in a professional, client-focused environment while adhering to sanitation and safety protocols.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage appointments and workload efficiently.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance for the duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Valid country driver’s license.
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
- Additional certifications or formal training in advanced therapeutic techniques (e.g., deep tissue, sports massage, reflexology).
- Demonstrated experience working in a government, military, or high-demand environment with diverse clientele.
- Familiarity with maintaining client records and tracking progress.
