Cleveland Clinic is dedicated to delivering comprehensive physical, mental and overall wellness support to patients and families across the globe. As a Message Therapist Chiropractic Assistant, you will assist us in fulfilling this goal by administering various therapies, such as deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, pregnancy/postpartum, acupressure and reflexology techniques. This role offers a unique opportunity to utilize a holistic approach to care, helping make a lasting difference in treatment outcomes and quality of life.

A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

(Schedule and locations remain the same once established.)

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including techniques that provide deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post-partum massage, acupressure, reflexology and hydrotherapy for Chiropractic patients. 

  • Administer therapeutic services, including electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, and stretching and strengthening activities (Under the direction of the chiropractic physician). 

  • Work within the Scope of Practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist and an Unlicensed Supportive Personnel under the Ohio Revised Code 

  • Interview patients to determine medical history, condition, desired results and appropriate modality. 

  • Monitors patient's responses to treatment and adjusts, changes, or terminates treatment based on feedback. 

  • Document patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedback, and results. 

  • Maintain therapy area in a clean, safe, sterile and Organizational state.  

  • Assist patients to safely perform activities related to the development of strength and endurance.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma/GED 

  • Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy Training Program 

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) by the state of Ohio 

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

  • One year of experience providing massage services or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Experience working in the medical and/or health care field 

  • Cupping or additional knowledge

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients and equipment, lifting of items in excess of 30 pounds.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended times.

  • Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients; e.g., carts and wheelchairs.

  • Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
