Rakuten Mart,
Rakuten's warehouse-based online supermarket business, is a new business model that combines the market  of a major retail chain with the agility and localized merchandising of a small, independent store.
By leveraging the unique characteristics of this business model to offer an innovative product lineup, we aim to revolutionize the domestic food distribution market and create a more valuable society for both users and producers.Within the general consumer distribution market, the food distribution market, in particular, has been slow to adopt e-commerce and digitalization.
Rakuten aims to promote the e-commerce and digitalization of food distribution by advancing its online supermarket business, thereby empowering society through food distribution reform.This position offers the opportunity to participate in the expansion of this business with the goal of establishing a leading position in Japan.


Department Overview

You will be responsible for the marketing of "Rakuten Mart," an online supermarket that handles fresh food and daily necessities.

- Mission within the Business:
By leveraging Rakuten's data sources, you will formulate mid-to-long-term marketing strategies and plan and execute short-term promotional measures to acquire and nurture customers.

- Marketing CWD Section, Promotion Management Group:
This group utilizes all marketing channels to formulate and execute user acquisition and retention plans to achieve sales targets. The team is small and highly skilled, so members are not divided by channel and can be involved in cross-functional planning.

This recruitment is to drive the expansion of our business scale.

We cover 12 million households in the greater Tokyo area, shipping from two automated warehouses. We have built an efficient H&S-type delivery network, enabling same-day delivery and temperature control of products. Furthermore, our state-of-the-art automated warehouses reduce walking time during product searches and product verification work, enabling highly efficient operations.


Position Details

You will be responsible for everything from new customer acquisition to existing customer nurturing, including data analysis (customer, product, UI, and other sales-related aspects), and will be responsible for one of the following:

Main Responsibilities
1.New User Acquisition and Retention
- Formulate new user acquisition plans and budgets.
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns.
Select and manage external/internal media.

2.Increase Purchase Frequency and Amount for Existing Users
‐ Formulate existing user nurturing plans and budgets.
- Plan and execute customer nurturing programs and CRM initiatives
(e.g., promoting collaboration with Rakuten Group services).
- Propose UI/UX improvements for Rakuten Mart WEB and APP.

3.Identify Issues and Opportunities through Data Analysis and User Research

Organization
Promotion Management Group: 4 members

Our team comprises individuals with diverse backgrounds, including marketing managers from operating companies, design engineers from manufacturers, and new graduates.

 

Mandatory Qualifications:

‐ Marketing experience or planning experience at an operating company, advertising agency, or consulting firm.
- Qualitative and quantitative data analysis (promotion effectiveness measurement, market research, etc.).


Desired Qualifications:

‐ Proactive attitude to lead projects as a self-starter.
- Practical experience in e-commerce services.
- Project or team management experience.
- KPI design and management experience.
- Data extraction skills using SQL, R, Python, etc.
