Marketing Manager
SUMMARY
The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading integrated marketing, public relations, and communications efforts for the hotel, with a strong emphasis on media relations, experiential storytelling and destination partnership engagement. This role oversees the planning and execution of press itineraries, media visits, influencer stays and brand partnerships while managing ongoing marketing channels, collateral and digital platforms.
The Marketing Manager serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, destination partners and third-party public relations agencies, ensuring consistent brand alignment, thoughtful guest and media experiences, and effective follow-up on press correspondence and deliverables. This position supports Director of Marketing & Communications in advancing brand visibility, reputation and revenue-driving initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Public Relations, Media & Communications
Lead the coordination and execution of media, influencer, and VIP itineraries, including customized programming, scheduling, and on-property experiences aligned with brand positioning and guest preferences.
Develop and execute surprise-and-delight moments based on intake forms, preferences, and editorial priorities to enhance media and influencer experiences.
Serve as the primary liaison with third-party public relations agencies, supporting media pitching efforts, press stays, asset requests, editorial follow-ups, and performance tracking.
Manage press correspondence and materials, including fact sheets, media kits, imagery, itineraries, and post-visit follow-ups.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with destination partners such as Visit Big Sky, Big Sky Resort, and local experience providers to curate cohesive, elevated itineraries.
Support earned media initiatives by aligning internal teams, destination partners, and agencies on timing, messaging, and experience execution.
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution
Formulate and execute rooms-related marketing initiatives, including national email campaigns, direct marketing efforts, third-party partnerships (e.g., AmEx, consortia, Robb Report), Impressions content, and promotional offers.
Support Food & Beverage marketing initiatives, including menu design coordination, website updates, interviews, Impressions articles, and strategic collaboration with culinary leadership on profitable offerings.
Support Spa and wellness marketing initiatives, including collateral development, Impressions content, special offers, and experiential programming in collaboration with spa leadership.
Provide direction for email campaigns and electronic communications, including message development, approvals, corporate coordination, proofing, and execution.
Brand, Design & Reputation Management
Assist in project management of Graphic Design contractor/team, providing creative direction, prioritization, approvals, and feedback to ensure alignment with brand standards.
Ensure all marketing, PR, and communications materials meet brand standards and visual guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school or equivalent education required.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
2-5 years experience in marketing, advertising, and branding.
Experience with an ad agency or in a similar capacity in hotel industry.
Computer proficiency and strong administrative abilities.
Must be on site in Big Sky, MT. This is an on property role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
