Job Purpose

The Senior Marketing Manager serves as the country-level marketing leader for India, accountable for defining and executing the full-funnel marketing strategy across awareness, demand generation, industry plays, and customer engagement. This role requires a highly accountable operator who can drive execution independently, proactively manage risks, and deliver commercially aligned outcomes with minimal supervision.

This role leads India’s marketing team and cross-functional virtual squads, setting priorities, coaching team members, and orchestrating collaboration with sales, partners, ecosystem marketing, and global/regional functions.

As the India Team Lead, you will represent India in regional planning, advocate market needs, and ensure that marketing contributes directly to pipeline, bookings, customer expansion, and brand strength.

Key Responsibilities

1. India Marketing Leadership & People Management

  • Lead the India marketing team, providing coaching, prioritization, performance management, and capability development.
  • Build a high-performing team culture that is customer-obsessed, data-driven, and execution-focused.
  • Act as the primary marketing voice for India in regional leadership forums, influencing investment, priorities, and resource allocation.
  • Manage agencies, contractors, and partners supporting India marketing.
  • Drive alignment across sales, pre-sales, industry leads, partners, and global marketing stakeholders to deliver unified go-to-market execution.

2. Market Strategy, Industry Focus & Planning

  • Own the annual India marketing strategy and plan, aligned with regional objectives and global campaign pillars.
  • Apply deep market knowledge to shape strategies across pricing, buyer behavior, competition, and digital channels.
  • Prioritize core India industry segments, including: Energy (Oil & Gas, Power, Renewables), Chemicals, Pharma & Life Sciences, Infrastructure, Water & Smart Cities, Metals & Mining, EPC, CPG.
  • Localize global content, messaging, digital assets, and web experiences for the Indian regulatory context.
  • Build integrated, industry-specific plays with regional and global industry marketing teams.

3. Demand Generation & Pipeline Growth

  • Lead India’s full-funnel demand generation programs—paid media, SEO/SEM, nurture, content syndication, webinars, and digital ads.
  • Drive new logo acquisition through targeted campaigns and localized digital activations.
  • Maintain segmented databases to enable personalization by industry, buying group, and account tier.
  • Partner with LDR teams to accelerate opportunity creation and conversion.
  • Manage partner joint campaigns with partner teams, and co-branded activities to expand market reach.
  • Own annual India marketing budget with quarterly forecast accuracy and disciplined investment allocation.

4. Brand, Communications & Thought Leadership

  • Own brand presence in India and collaborate with PR and AR teams to extend share of voice in priority industries.
  • Lead India-level communications and influencer engagement programs.
  • Amplify global thought leadership by adapting it for India’s industry, regulatory, and customer context.
  • Develop and manage India social media strategy and local storytelling.

5. Customer Marketing, Engagement & Advocacy

  • Build ABM programs (1:Few and 1:Many) for strategic India accounts.
  • Run customer lifecycle programs to drive adoption, upsell, cross-sell, renewal, and retention.
  • Create customer advocacy engines—references, case studies, testimonials, and executive engagements.
  • Lead community-building initiatives and industry forums that deepen customer relationships.
  • Source high-impact customer stories and activate them across local and regional channels.

6. Events & India Market Activation

  • Lead India’s strategic event roadmap—executive roundtables, industry events, trade shows, conferences, and webinars.
  • Ensure events are tightly integrated into industry plays, sales motions, and campaigns.
  • Deliver high-quality hybrid and physical events aligned with India’s business culture.

7. Measurement, Analytics & Optimization

  • Own India’s marketing performance dashboard and reporting cadence.
  • Measure impact on sourced/contributed pipeline, bookings, new logo growth, and customer expansion.
  • Analyze channel and segment performance to inform investment and resource decisions.
  • Continuously optimize content, channels, and campaigns using AI-enabled insights and CRM analytics.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Required

8–12+ years of B2B marketing experience with 3+ years leading teams or cross-functional squads. Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing and developing a team. Track record of executing high-impact campaigns and driving measurable pipeline contribution. Deep understanding of India’s business landscape and industry buying cycles. Digital-first mindset with hands-on experience in CRM, SEO/SEM, AI implementation, analytics, content optimization, and marketing automation. Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Experience navigating matrixed global organizations.

Preferred

  • Experience in enterprise software, industrial technology, or complex B2B solutions.
  • Familiarity with India’s regulatory and industry-specific digital marketing nuances.
  • Experience building customer advocacy programs and sourcing local customer stories.

Hybrid working
