Marketing Innovation Strategist

Costa Mesa, CA Full time
Marketing Innovation Strategist

We’re hiring a strategic, cross-functional thinker who thrives at the intersection of marketing, technology, and process improvement. This role blends analysis, marketing intuition, and emerging tech, especially AI tools and automation, to help us test, scale, and streamline our marketing efforts.

You’ll help define what we test, which tools we use, how we execute more efficiently, and how we learn from results.

This role requires a clear and effective communicator who can collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including Big Data, Web Development, Product, Marketing, and Sales, as well as external partners. The ideal candidate has a solid background in digital marketing, business strategy, or project management/coordination, and is adept at presenting well-considered recommendations to internal stakeholders and external agency partners. You should also be quick to learn new tools and processes and bring a continuous improvement mindset to our marketing operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Innovation & Experimentation

  • Design and coordinate marketing experiments across channels, formats, workflows, or tools.
  • Pilot new marketing technologies or process improvements and manage the hand-off after validation.
  • Evaluate early performance data and user feedback to inform go or no-go decisions.

2. Marketing Tech and AI Tool Evaluation

  • Research and vet marketing tools, platforms, and vendor services.
  • Schedule and lead vendor demos, coordinate internal stakeholder input, and synthesize tradeoffs and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI tools like GPT, Claude, or Copilot to support campaign workflows, content development, or process automation.

3. Project Management and Coordination

  • Act as the project lead or key coordinator for marketing initiatives involving multiple teams.
  • Define project scope, flag risks such as scope creep, and help keep execution on track.
  • Use project management platforms, especially Monday.com, to organize timelines, workflows, and dependencies.
  • Serve as our department’s lead Subject Matter Expert for our project management platform, Monday.com.

4. Cross-Team Enablement

  • Be the connective tissue between creative, media, analytics, and tech teams to ensure ideas move smoothly from test to implementation.
  • Communicate findings and decisions clearly across teams with diverse skill sets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications in any of the following areas are a plus:
    • Project Management (e.g. PMI-ACP, Monday.com product certification)
    • Marketing Tools (e.g. HubSpot Inbound Marketing, Google Analytics)
    • AI and Automation (e.g. OpenAI Prompt Engineering Fundamentals, Zapier)
  • Equivalent practical experience will also be considered. We value demonstrated curiosity, problem-solving, and hands-on results as much as formal credentials.
