Job Description

The Marketing Executive (DACH) is responsible for supporting the delivery of strategic, integrated, compelling and competitive marketing plans specifically for the DACH region, across both the Intermediary and Institutional channels, and helping to ensure clear alignment to the broader marketing strategy and corporate messaging, as well as contributing directly to the business objectives. The role is part of the EMEA B2B Channel & Product Marketing team and plays a key part in working closely with the wider Marketing team as required to help ensure marketing activities are delivered on time, on budget and in line with business objectives.

How you'll spend your time

•    Support the delivery of local marketing strategy for the DACH region.

•    Support the development and implementation of marketing plans and activities, and drive measurable results, that support the local business objectives. Helping to ensure appropriate buy-in, awareness and understanding within the wider marketing team, as well as across the business, to enable successful delivery externally as well as in line with Columbia Threadneedle risk appetite and policies.

•    Support the Senior Marketing Manager (Northern & Pan Euro.) in ensuring an integrated and consistent approach, where possible, across the region. 

•    Work with Marketing Campaigns and Product Marketing functions to ensure the timely delivery of campaign assets and product marketing materials for the region.

•    Proactively assess emerging and evolving marketing needs to ensure the brand is on or ahead of relevant marketing trends as well as overall positioning with key target audiences, and aligned to our broader data driven, digital-first marketing approach, focused on deepening engagement with our various B2B target audiences, as well as clearly supporting the commercial objectives of the business.

•    Build, manage, and maintain strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders across marketing, distribution, investments, communications, compliance, and legal, acting as a central point of coordination to effectively translate business needs into marketing activity.

•    Proactively manage senior stakeholder expectations, balancing commercial objectives with regulatory, risk, and brand considerations, and addressing issues and dependencies in a timely and constructive manner.

•    Support broader EMEA B2B Channel & Product Marketing team in successfully managing stakeholder relationships, including providing regular marketing updates, reports and providing marketing support as required. 

•    Proactively collaborate with wider marketing team, to help deliver on the broader marketing strategy, key initiatives, etc.  

•    Constructively challenge the norm to deliver significant step changes in client experience and commercial results. 

•    Serve as an advocate for EMEA B2B marketing activities within marketing, and across the broader business.  

•    Serve as an expert and advocate for appropriate use of our brand in accordance with broader corporate messaging, positioning and brand guidelines. 


To be successful in this role you will have
•    Prior marketing experience in financial services. 
•    Demonstrable experience and understanding of marketing tools and systems. 
•    Unapologetically client focussed yet commercially driven with keen interest in understanding of financial drivers / business requirements, and strong budget management skills.
•    Relevant experience as demonstrated through past results.
•    Good understanding of core project management skills.
•    “Student of the game”; stays up to date on Marketing and industry trends. 
•    Fluent (written and verbal) in German and English.
•    A good eye for detail.
•    Proactive and prepared to take ownership. 
•    Good written and verbal skills.
