Are you passionate about using insight, analysis and measurement to transform marketing performance? We’re looking for a proactive Marketing Effectiveness Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping how we evaluate, optimise and champion our marketing impact.

This is a short fixed-term contract role, to cover a secondment gap at a pivotal period for the team. It offers the opportunity to drive meaningful change at pace in how we measure and improve marketing effectiveness. Working with teams across Marketing and our data and insight partners, you’ll help strengthen how we define what ‘effective’ looks like, how we decide what to measure, and how we evidence the impact of marketing activity. Joining at a real turning point in terms of appetite and support for this work, you’ll sit at the heart of building our performance capability, gaining exposure across a broad, multi-channel portfolio, multiple propositions and a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation.
Key projects for this period are:
Support Legacy Giving marketing and proposition teams to strengthen how their marketing performance is measured and reported.
Play an active role in the newly established Marketing Effectiveness Squad to drive forward the programme of work.
Support the approach to MMM analysis and how insights are used.
Enable the re-set of our weekly and monthly marketing performance reporting for FY26/27 to enable teams to optimise performance.
Support the Senior Marketing Effectiveness Manager in providing an independent view of CRUK Marketing performance and effectiveness working in partnership with cross functional teams to ensure a consistent view, aligned goals and methodologies.
Assist in facilitating an effective performance management process, establishing robust measurement frameworks and reporting (including MMM, attribution models, brand tracking), enabling regular reviews of performance, and oversee the selection and implementation of analytics tools and platforms
Support in ensuring Marketing and Digital have the right package of reporting, tools and systems to evaluate marketing campaigns across channels (digital, TV, print, etc) to assess ROI, effectiveness and impact.
Work with the Senior Marketing Effectiveness Manager in providing support for Marketing Planning to enable budget allocation and identifying optimization opportunities as part of the planning process and at more granular level for marketing e.g. campaign level with reporting team/agencies.
identify opportunities for innovation through data to improve our processes, offer and engagement with supporters.
Understanding of marketing measurement techniques, including econometrics, attribution modelling, and A/B testing.
Understanding of digital marketing channels (search, social, programmatic, CRM) and brand media (TV, OOH, print).
Ability to translate complex data into strategic recommendations and narratives for non-technical audiences.
Experience in marketing effectiveness, analytics, or commercial insight roles.
Proven track record of improving marketing ROI and influencing strategic investment decisions.
Experience working with or managing external agencies, data science partners, or media measurement providers.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
A confident and effective communicator with a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, including in difficult situations
Able to balance technical precision with big-picture thinking.
