About the Department & Service
The Marketing Planning Department is responsible for formulating strategy for Rakuten Mobile’s plans and products, and leading those initiatives through to execution.
The ARPU Promotion Group, where this position will be based, is tasked with maximizing ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) for Rakuten Mobile. We handle the planning and improvement of optional services, sales promotion, and the design and execution of marketing campaigns. In addition to launching new optional services, we formulate strategies based on the competitive landscape and pricing differentials to drive usage and profitability for existing services. We also promote value creation and revenue growth unique to Rakuten Mobile through coordination, negotiation, and alliance building with external partners.

In an increasingly competitive industry, enhancing the appeal of optional services and advancing sales strategies—beyond just the rate plans themselves—has become critical to business growth.
We are seeking a professional who can lead the entire process, from competitive analysis and customer needs assessment to new service planning, existing service improvement, campaign execution, partner collaboration, and data-driven reporting.

Job Description
You will lead the growth of the following areas:
- Planning and implementation of new optional services.
- Formulation and execution of improvement and sales expansion strategies for existing optional services.
- Service strategy and campaign planning based on competitor pricing and market trends.
- Coordination, negotiation, and alliance promotion with 3rd-party and business partners.
- Monitoring, data analysis, and reporting of sales performance and revenue for optional services.
- KPI design, progress management, issue identification, and execution of improvement measures.
- Development of sales operations and promotion of strategy implementation in collaboration with relevant departments.
■Expected Roles
- Lead the end-to-end process from planning and launching new optional services to driving their sales.
- Plan and execute improvement and campaign initiatives to increase the usage and profitability of existing services.
- Identify potential partners, conduct condition negotiations, design schemes, and manage internal/external coordination.
- Continuously propose strategies for business growth through competitive, pricing, and sales performance analysis.
- Support the development and operational guidance of team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Practical experience in marketing, business planning, sales planning, service planning, or alliance promotion.
- Experience in coordination and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in strategy formulation and improvement based on data analysis.
- Practical skills in PowerPoint and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience in the telecommunications industry, IT industry, or subscription service sector.
- Experience in the planning and introduction of new services or products.
- Experience in campaign planning and execution of sales promotion measures.
- Experience in promoting alliances with 3rd parties or external partners.
- Experience in KPI design and numerical management (ARPU, subscription rates, utilization rates, revenue, gross profit, etc.).
- Project management experience.
- Experience in negotiating and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
