About the role

This role will be charged with driving breakthrough performance and backing the General Manager of the Philippines to lead the development of a transformational marketing strategy. They will be accountable for creating a high performing commercial organization and executing the marketing programs necessary to step-change profitability and growth creation.

Being role model in developing strategic marketing direction that translates into long-range brand building strategies and innovative marketing plans will be a critical focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the portfolio participation strategy & execution based on local insights and opportunities, and reflecting Diageo strategic direction

  • Manage the portfolio and individual brands within the portfolio, on a day to day basis, with clear accountability for all brand measures and brand compliance. Specifically;

  • Develop and deliver groundbreaking, marketing plans and activities that create sustainable brand-led growth. Work with the Global Brand Teams (GBTs) in the creation/ adaptation of key growth drivers, including and not limited to ATL communications, BTL campaigns and digital. Hold and raise the standards on marketing flair in creation and brilliance in execution. Develop strong & effective media plans and ensure A&P effectiveness.

  • Through working in partnership with innovation and lead the execution of innovation plans to step-change value growth.

  • Partnering with the Commercial teams for organisational and cultural change required to transform customer agenda and drive performance of our brands through channel development and pricing innovations.

  • Establish and nurture relationships with key internal & external stakeholders (agencies, external strategic partners, GBT's, Commercial, Finance, HR, etc)

  • Owning the thinking on Overall Strategy for the Philippines business, Business Model, right financials and Trademark Strategy for Participation across the various categories in the Philippines TBA.

What you need to bring to this role

A key part of this role is to also ensure the use of creative excellence, disciplined project leadership and management in creating new opportunities from multiple start points. The ability to navigate through Key Stakeholders within Diageo will be necessary for success and traction

  • At least 15 years marketing experience, 5 years in people manager position

  • Experience in full marketing mix, including grounding of consumer insight, brand propositioning and customer relationship management

  • Validated experience in high-level (numerical) analysis to accurately assess and implement business situation

  • Knowledge and passion for the organization and its products/ brands strongly required

  • Requires excellent communication and influencing skills

  • Considerable drive, energy, leadership and focus to sufficiently energize the internal and external resources of the company to execute the agreed objectives on assigned brand

  • Creative, eye for detail

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environment and marketing conditions

  • Marketing Judgment: Proof of consumer understanding and insight generation. Growth driver implementation and understanding of how to flex, search & spin, measurement and evaluation
