Typically regional, Senior Marketers can have a tactical or operational role that is short to medium term. According to their level of expertise, they are expected to execute market mapping, market research and business development projects under the guidance of a (Sr) Marketing Manager. They also help lead regional implementation of strategies championed by (Sr) Marketing Managers, liaising with Sales and other functions in order to identify and execute relevant commercial opportunities. The role is located in the area of responsibility, and requires mastery of local language(s).
Accountable and responsible to validate with (Sr) Marketing Managers and local commercial leadership SMART objectives for market entry, penetration, segment growth. Senior Marketers adjust/localize, sometimes design, & always deploy, strategy in the region and segments within their job scope, while making use of all relevant most effective modern marketing tools and technologies. They are expected to internally align relevant functions behind agreed business objectives, ensuring that marketing implementation is aligned with market development plans, sales plans and (if applicable) local Technical Sales and Development (TS&D) activities. This includes local execution of activities like product launches, commercialization and positioning in line with launch plans developed by their designated (Sr) Marketing Manager. Sr Marketers also contribute towards the assessment of local go-to market strategies and channel partners, including the adaptation of required supporting communications to ensure proper local deployment and execution of Marketing strategies. This encompasses coordination of critical internal functions, of local brand and product communications, daily maintenance and coordination of contact management and lead & opportunity management activities in region and segment within job scope.
Sr Marketers play the role of Dow's eyes and ears in the region. They must understand their segment in a holistic view beyond short-term customer specificities. Sr Marketers are expected to proactively identify and report emerging trends and needs, product and market opportunities, business prospects, and benchmark market-perceived value of existing offering versus competition. They maintain a strong local value chain network to support all local activities contributing to sustainable profitable value capture and growth.
Senior Marketers execute regional implementation of the strategy as defined by the relevant (Sr) Marketing Manager, lead market mapping and market intelligence activities in area under job scope. They bring recommendations back to (Senior) Marketing Manager based on findings and proactively flag trends and disruptions as they emerge. Accountable to progress a sustainable and profitable lead and opportunity pipeline in respective area of responsibility.
