Purpose:
The Marketing Automation Partner is responsible for the end-to-end execution of marketing emails primarily supporting Athene’s retail annuity business as well as corporate and other business lines. This role ensures delivery of branded, compliant, and responsive email communications built within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. The position focuses on email production, reporting and deployment, and collaborates closely with the Marketing Technology & Operations team to uphold quality, accessibility, and performance standards.Accountabilities:
Email Production & Deployment
Build and test responsive emails using Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Studio.
Configure dynamic and personalized content using AMPscript and content blocks.
Schedule, test, and deploy campaigns and journeys in Journey Builder.
Govern and maintain the email calendar.
Utilize Litmus to ensure proper rendering across devices.
Uphold brand, accessibility, and compliance standards for email communications.
Quality & Process Management
Follow email deployment workflows and approval processes for execution.
Troubleshoot rendering or deliverability issues, documenting resolutions.
Maintain email templates and process documentation for consistency and scalability.
Reporting & Optimization
Monitor engagement metrics to identify areas for design or technical improvement.
Use Tableau and Salesforce Marketing Cloud analytics to share performance reports.
Stay current on email best practices and Salesforce Marketing Cloud updates to drive continual enhancement.
Collaboration
Partner with project managers and business colleagues to ensure campaign readiness.
Provide feedback on email design and execution to help optimize outcomes for business partners.
Support broader Marketing Technology & Operations initiatives as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 2+ years of email production experience in an enterprise Email Service Provider (ESP).
Proficiency in HTML/CSS for email layout troubleshooting.
Detail-oriented and organized with strong project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Preferred
Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Studio, Journey Builder, and email testing tools like litmus.
Working knowledge of AMPScript or similar scripting languages for dynamic content.
Familiarity with B2B financial or insurance marketing.
Basic understanding of email deliverability, sender reputation, and compliance principles.
Experience with interpreting email performance through data visualization tools like Tableau or other BI tools.
