Commercialization & Licensing Support
Prepares non-confidential summaries, technology briefs, pitch materials, and other case-specific marketing collateral in support of KUCTC licensing activities.
Collaborates with Licensing Team to develop case-specific marketing campaigns and strategies aligned with licensing and startup goals.
Identifies, researches, and prioritizes prospective licensees, industry partners, and startup collaborators.
In collaboration with the Licensing Team, develops targeted outreach lists and supports coordinated industry engagement efforts.
Assists Licensing Team with market research and competitive landscape analyses to assess commercial viability and inform licensing strategy as needed.
Assists Licensing Team with marketing support for active negotiations and priority technologies as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Participates in case strategy discussions and portfolio review meetings to ensure alignment between marketing efforts and commercialization priorities.
Collaborates with inventors to translate technical innovations into industry-relevant messaging.
Coordinates with IP management, compliance, and administrative staff to ensure marketing activities align with office processes and reporting requirements.
Marketing Operations & Communications
Manages CRM database and marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce, IN-PART, Sophia, Flintbox) to track outreach, engagement, and campaign performance.
Supports development, organization, and production of annual report, marketing collateral, and event materials.
Leads website content updates and supports future website enhancements.
Drafts internal and external communications supporting office initiatives.
Utilizes social media and digital channels to promote technologies and KUCTC initiatives.
Contributes to overall marketing strategy aligned with KUCTC commercialization goals.
Required Qualifications:
Work Experience:
4 years of experience in a similar marketing or academic technology transfer role. Education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing
Work Experience:
Experience with websites including HTML, CSS coding
Experience with design applications
Experience with highly technical/scientific subject matter

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
