Job Summary:

The Marketing and Advertising Coordinator is an essential support role, assisting the marketing and advertising teams in executing campaigns and promotions to drive ticket sales, fan engagement, and brand visibility for the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers. This position provides administrative and operational support across various marketing functions, including ticket sales, special offers, advertising campaigns, data analysis, and group sales. The Coordinator will work closely with the Manager and other team members to ensure that marketing initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Single Game Ticket Sales Strategy and Demand Development:

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing strategies to drive single-game ticket sales, including tracking ticket sales data and updating marketing materials.

  • Help with the creation and implementation of targeted campaigns designed to build demand for high-profile games and events.

Assist with Special Ticket Offers:

  • Coordinate and manage the logistics of special ticket offers (e.g., group deals, family packages, discounted tickets) by preparing promotional materials and ensuring all offers are communicated clearly to fans.

  • Maintain and update promotional calendars, tracking important ticket sale dates and special events.

Advertising Campaign Planning and Execution:

  • Support the planning, execution, and coordination of advertising campaigns across multiple platforms, including digital ads, radio, TV, and in-arena promotions.

  • Assist with media buying tasks, including ad placement tracking and working with vendors/agencies to secure ad spaces.

  • Help manage campaign timelines and work closely with design teams to ensure timely delivery of creative assets.

Support Group Sales and Urgent Sales Needs:

  • Assist the group sales team by organizing campaigns aimed at corporate groups, schools, and fan clubs.

  • Provide support during special sales events or urgent promotional pushes, ensuring all marketing materials are prepared and campaigns are launched smoothly.

  • Assist in coordinating last-minute ticket promotions, offering creative solutions to drive attendance during high-demand periods.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Help gather and compile data on ticket sales, campaign performance, and fan engagement metrics.

  • Assist with generating regular reports on KPIs like ticket sales, social media engagement, and email marketing performance.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of campaigns, providing insights to the team and suggesting adjustments as necessary.

Coordinate Marketing Materials and Content:

  • Prepare and distribute marketing materials such as flyers, email templates, social media posts, and in-arena signage.

  • Maintain up-to-date marketing assets and ensure they are aligned with current promotions and campaigns.

  • Assist with the preparation of content for email marketing campaigns, including ticket offers, team news, and event promotions.

Support Member Services with Important Messaging:

  • Inform 1901 Society Members of ongoing and key initiatives, with tailored messages, segmented lists

  • Lead the charge on membership renewals, working hand in hand with Member Services, Premium Service and Revenue Marketing

  • Contact members with essential updates regarding sale timelines, payment deadlines and more.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Degree in marketing, communications, sports management, or a related field.

  • 1-2 Years in Marketing or Advertising. Previous experience in a marketing or administrative role, preferably in sports or entertainment, is helpful but not required.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to coordinate logistics for multiple marketing campaigns and promotions simultaneously.

  • Basic understanding of advertising principles, media planning, and content creation for digital and traditional platforms.

  • Experience with social media management, email marketing, and digital advertising tools.

  • Comfortable working with data to assist in reporting and analyzing marketing campaign performance.

  • Experience with Excel, Google Analytics, or other data tracking tools is a plus.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to assist in drafting email copy, social media posts, and other marketing materials.

  • Ability to liaise with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth campaign execution.

  • A keen eye for detail in preparing marketing materials and ensuring campaign information is accurate and up to date.

  • Ability to contribute creative ideas to assist with campaigns or promotions and provide logistical solutions to meet urgent sales needs.
