Role Overview: As a Market Development Manager, you will own Salesforce (SFDC) administration, leading periodic sales reviews, ensuring data-driven decision-making, helping formulate sector growth plans and key account plans, and also lead promotional campaigns. This role will act as a strategic partner to sales leadership, challenging assumptions when necessary, and managing high-impact business events and alignment between sales strategy and execution.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with Sales Leadership to drive sales performance – metrics as well as behaviours

  • Enable decision making, recommend actions, by providing insights based on detailed analysis of business/ sales/ pipeline data

  • Manage and optimize SFDC for accurate data capture, reporting, and analytics

  • Define and monitor key metrics, build dashboards and scorecards to track sales team’s performance and recommend actions

  • Conduct periodic sales reviews with leadership, providing actionable insights on pipeline health, conversion rates, and revenue performance

  • Monitor sales incentive schemes linked to performance and ensure timely payout

  • Help formulate detailed sector sales plans and key account plans, manage rhythm to monitor progress

  • Ensure system integrity and user adoption across the sales organization

  • Challenge sales constructively to ensure accountability and alignment with business goals

  • Plan and execute customer-facing events including expos, roadshows, and strategic meets

  • Coordinate logistics, budgets, and stakeholder engagement to maximize ROI from events

  • Develop and implement best practices for sales processes, forecasting, and performance tracking

  • Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance sales productivity and effectiveness

  • Partner with Sales and HR leadership, to plan and execute capability development interventions

You’ll have the following skills and experience: 

  • Engineering degree, preferably in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Chemical engineering

  • Master’s degree in business management/ Sales/ Marketing will be an added advantage

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in sales operations, marketing/ business development

  • A stint in frontline sales is highly preferred

  • Proficiency in Salesforce (SFDC) CRM and reporting.

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and present insights.

  • Displays strong business acumen, problem solving skills and growth orientation

  • Demonstrates high level of accountability and ownership

  • Demonstrates strong stakeholder management and a collaborative approach to get stuff done

  • Ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders constructively.

  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
