About the Role

Citrus seeks a seasoned Market Access Freelancer to deliver hands-on support for pharmaceutical and biotech market access projects. The ideal candidate combines deep research acumen, advanced data analysis skills, and expertise in value message development and testing. You will be responsible for conducting primary payer research, including in-depth interviews (IDIs), and crafting insights that guide client strategy. This is an ongoing, project-based role with the opportunity for direct client engagement and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct hands-on qualitative and quantitative research into payer landscapes and market trends.​
  • Analyze primary and secondary data to extract actionable insights for client value propositions.​
  • Develop, test, and refine market access and value messaging for pharmaceutical and biotech products.​
  • Independently conduct payer in-depth interviews (IDIs), synthesize findings, and present recommendations.​
  • Prepare client-ready deliverables, presentations, and summaries of research insights.​
  • Work collaboratively with internal strategy, creative, and client teams to align outputs with client goals.​
  • Engage with clients on project objectives, present findings, and support strategic discussions.​
  • Stay current with market and payer trends, health economics, and the evolving access environment.​
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining clear communication and timely delivery.​

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in market access, payer research, or consulting within agency or pharmaceutical settings.​
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct primary payer research, including IDIs.​
  • Advanced skills in data analysis, literature review, and synthesizing market insights.​
  • Strong value message development and testing background.​
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; must be comfortable in client-facing roles.​
  • Experience supporting U.S. and/or global market access and HEOR projects is a plus.​
  • Self-starter with strong project management skills and ability to work autonomously and within a team.​
