About you and this role
We have a great opportunity as a Logistics Service Coordinator – Marine in the, located in Terneuzen, the Netherlands.
In this role, you provide day-to-day logistics support and expertise, including arranging transport, managing logistics issues, and resolving shipment execution exceptions within the material flow process. Applies full proficiency in technical logistics processes and procedures, developed through job-related training and substantial on-the-job experience, to handle a broad range of assignments.
You resolve non‑routine operational and analytical issues by applying established practices, work closely with cross‑functional teams, and take full ownership of your assigned scope, consistently striving for an efficient end‑to‑end supply chain. In addition, you utilise SAP and logistics systems with a high level of proficiency and manage complex stakeholder inter
actions, both internally and externally, ensuring clear, timely, and transparent communication.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for operational accuracy in Bulk Marine logistics systems (vessel nominations, voyage execution, documentation, new requests) aligned with physical execution and contractual terms.
- Operational efficiency within your assigned logistics scope, taking ownership of end‑to‑end execution and continuously optimizing material flows to achieve an effective and resilient supply chain.
- Proactively identify operational, commercial and execution risks (e.g. berth constraints or laycan slippage) and initiate preventive- or mitigation actions.
- Act as an interface between internal stakeholders (business planning, sites, quality, procurement) and external parties (vessel owners, terminals, brokers, SGS), ensuring that all Bulk Marine requirements—such as loading windows, technical specifications, safety standards, and documentation—are accurately understood, coordinated, and executed.
- Demonstrates understanding of the P&L for their assigned scope and considers financial impact when executing logistics activities and resolving operational issues.
- Responsible for demurrage claim handling and rebill opportunities
- Participates in tracking of key performance indicators and other metrics
- Contribute to continuous improvement and team effectiveness, sharing knowledge, and improving work practices where needed.
Qualifications
- You have an MBO-4 and/or an Associate Degree
- The critical competencies required for success are: understanding customer needs, teamwork and collaboration, taking initiative, time management, attention to details and multiple tasks, interpersonal effectiveness, communication, technical proficiency in use of computer applications. Excel knowledge, ECC navigation.

- Communication - Clearly and proactively communication with logistics service providers and internal stakeholders to coordinate logistics activities, provide shipment updates, manage exceptions, and support a high‑quality customer experience.
- Supply Chain & Logistics Operations - Supports daily logistics execution by coordinating transport, monitoring shipments, and resolving operational challenges to ensure on‑time, cost‑effective delivery.
- Proactive Problem Solving - Anticipates and resolves logistics issues early, taking ownership and be solution driven to keep deliveries on track.
- Detail-Oriented - Demonstrates strong attention to detail when managing logistics data. Ensures accurate logistics data, documentation, and system entries to support reliable and compliant shipment execution.
- Prioritization - Prioritizes shipments and tasks based on urgency, business requirements, and customer impact to ensure smooth and timely logistics execution.
