We are excited to announce a new opportunity through our continued partnership with Woodside, having recently secured a contract that expands our operational footprint in Western Australia. This marks an important milestone in our growth and positions us to support one of Australia’s most respected energy providers with enhanced marine capability. 

 

As part of this growth, we are seeking experienced and safety focused Loadmasters to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. These roles operate on an equal time roster of 4 weeks on/4 weeks off in Dampier, WA. For those who are not local to the region, accommodation in Karratha will be provided during rostered swings.

 How You’ll Make a Difference  

 

As a Load Master, you’ll be ensuring safe, efficient cargo operations and facilitating smooth communication between vessel, shore, and client stakeholders. Your operational precision, attention to detail, and leadership under pressure will help drive the success of this new contract. Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Oversee the safe loading, stowage, and discharge of cargo in line with operational and safety procedures. 
  • Lead pre-load safety checks, ship-shore checklists, and safety briefings. 
  • Manage manifold connections, ESD tests, and controlled start-up/shut-down of cargo transfers. 
  • Coordinate with vessel crew, terminal staff, and client representatives to ensure timely cargo movement. 
  • Maintain accurate cargo manifests, loading records, and operational documentation. 
  • Enforce safety protocols through toolbox talks, risk assessments, and permit systems. 
  • Support continuous improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. 
  • Liaise with ship and terminal stakeholders, monitor weather, and maintain communication with the Central Control Room. 
  • Act as the on-scene representative during emergencies and ERP activations. 

 
 

About You 

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring: 

  • Experience in terminal or offshore logistics, supported by a senior marine Certificate of Competency 
  • A valid Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or be eligible to obtain 
  • An Oil or Gas Tanker endorsement issued by AMSA is highly regarded 
  • A current Australian Driver’s Licence 
  • Willingness to undertake mandatory training and familiarisation, which may include time at the Australian Maritime College (AMC), to meet competency standards. 
  • Solid understanding of maritime regulations and cargo handling procedures. 
  • Proven ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive during complex or high-pressure operations. 
  • A strong commitment to safety, with the situational awareness needed for high-risk environments. 
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work across a range of stakeholders. 
  • Flexibility to work on a rostered schedule, including FIFO or DIDO site access. 
  • A proactive mindset, with a willingness to embrace technology and support sustainable practices. 
  • Full Australian working rights.
